Wheelchair taxi starts operating in Goa

The state of Goa is one of the most popular holiday destinations in India, people from all over the world come here for the sea and the sun, exotic and new experiences. North Goa is also distinguished by affordable prices, and hotels in the south of the state for the infrastructure and service. More recently, the resort began to pay more attention for the accessible environment: this month in Goa, a taxi service for low-mobility passengers — Ezy Mov, has been launched. 


The service was developed with the support of the travel company Enable Travel, which specializes in organizing recreation for tourists with disabilities. Currently, in the most popular places of Goa there are 5 taxi service vehicles equipped for transporting people with wheelchairs. One can order an accessible taxi in the state capital of Panaji, in the city of Mapusa, at Dabolim international airport. 


Taxi Ezy Mov equipped with hydraulic lifts and a security system for wheelchairs, drivers are trained to work with the equipment and passengers. The adapted car can be rented or use the services of a local driver for a trip to the hospital or shopping. For tourists, the cost of renting low mobility vehicles for 8 hours is 1,750 rupees (about 1,600 rubles). For residents and regular customers, discounts are provided.

The company Ezy Mov began to appear in India in 2015, this is the first taxi service for low-mobility passengers in the country.
