Xia Boyu reached the summit of Everest

Heavy breathing and the sounds of friction of metal prostheses about the icy metal of the stairs - under the blinding Xia Boyu - a Chinese climber with amputated legs, overcomes the remaining path to the top of the world. On the morning of Monday, May 14, Xia Boyu fulfilled the dream of his whole life and conquered Mount Everest. He managed to do it with the fifth attempt.

 

“My Dad reached Everest at 8:26 Nepal time!!! Has realized his 40 years dream!!!” such a message was published by the son of an alpinist in the Chinese messenger WeChat.

On his way to the peak Xia Boyu was accompanied by a veteran of Nepal mountaineering, Sherpa Mingma G., who managed to conquer the 14 highest mountains of the planet on the first attempt, and 11 more people of the team.

In the history of conquest of Everest, this is the first successful attempt to reach the summit from the Nepalese side by a person, with the amputation of both legs. May 15, 2006 the first climber with a double amputation, which conquered Mount Everest, climbing the mountain from China, became New Zealander Mark Inglis.
