Pregnant women, passengers with infants, and travelers with special needs will receive flight priority at airports - a decision was announced by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ). Thus, staying at the airport and preparing for the flight for passengers with reduced mobility and access needs will be easier and more convenient. The innovation includes the simplification of the transit procedure new lounges, check-in and passport control desks, parking for people with disabilities and other services.

A statement by the DHMİ states that such rules do not apply in many countries and that Turkey is ready to be an innovator in this area. According to DHMİ, 38 airports in the country have an “Airport without Barriers” certificate, and 18 airports have certificates of accessibility. When exactly the innovation will take effect is not yet reported.
