Bucharest named the most accessible for wheelchair travelers

The capital of Romania was named the most hospitable for tourists with limited mobility. According to a study conducted by HomeToGo - a service for finding apartments and holiday homes, Bucharest became the friendliest European city for people with wheelchairs.

In its study, HomeToGo relied on data from its own platform for booking hotels, houses and apartments of more than 17 million objects, which covers all the main providers of vacation rental services, including the most famous - Airbnb and Booking.com. The cities of Europe with a population of more than 500,000 people were considered.

Bucharest became the leader in terms of the number of facilities designated as accessible for people with wheelchairs - 11.4%, while the average for Europe was 7.7%. In second place was Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria - 10.41%, and closes the three leaders Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with 10.2%.
