Description
Journey to the spiritual heart Poland on a full-day tour from Krakow to the Jasna Góra Monastery in Czestochowa. Drive past medieval castles and limestone cliffs along the Trail of the Eagles’ Nests to reach the southwestern city, known as a sacred pilgrimage spot for centuries. Tour the chapel, treasury, tower and refectory of the monastery and learn about its religious significance, from the 17th-century Lwów Oath of King John II Casimir to the Jasna Góra Oaths of the Polish Nation and many visits by Pope John Paul II. During your tour of the monastery, you will have a chance to see: the Treasury, the Knights Chamber, the Nation’s Remembrance Chapel, the Refectory, the Tower, the Golgotha and the Stations of the Cross.

Our tour to Czestochowa’s Jasna Gora Monastery starts around 9 am from the center of Krakow, or from your place of stay in town.
After approximately two hours we will arrive at our destination, which is known as the religious capital of Poland. This is home to the famous Pauline monastery and treasured yet mysterious Our Lady of Czestochowa painting, both drawing devoted pilgrims from all across the globe. Exact origins of the painting are unknown, and it has been tied to many miracles over the centuries, continuing to captivate Catholics to this day.
Near and dear to the heart of Pope John Paul II, he visited the monastery six times. It was even chosen as the place to permanently display his bullet-torn sash, after his 1981 assassination attempt.
This spiritual journey lasts 8-9 hours in total, and is led by a professional, friendly and informative guide.
We will take a lunch break if necessary.
