For the first time this year, the annual spring carnival in Goa will be accessible for participants with limited mobility. The four-day festival will open in Panaji on March 2 with a colorful parade of decorated floats, and then move to other cities of the state - Margao and Vasco.

For the holiday, the Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG), the first accessible taxi service, Ezy Mov, and travel company Enable Travel, will prepare an adapted float on which participants with disabilities and the elderly in specially designed costumes will march into the parade. The platform itself will symbolize the achievements of the state in creating an accessible environment.

Ezy Mov’s CEO Bennet D’Cunha said: “We believe in an inclusive world where no one is left out of the mainstream. Our biggest challenge is to get the differently-abled and the elderly to travel with dignity and be independent in society.”
