California will host US Open Adaptive Surfing Championships

The second annual US Open Adaptive Surfing Championships will be held in California, USA, from October 5 to 7, 2018. Athletes with disabilities from different countries will take part in the competition.
The event was organized by the Challenged Athletes Foundation and the Stoke for Life Foundation.

The first such championship was held in California in October 2017. Participants from the USA, Denmark, Australia, Brazil, Israel, tried their hand at several functional groups: Prone (with the help of an assistant and independently), Standing Below The Knee, Kneel Above The Knee. Also, visually impaired and hearing-impaired surfers participated in the competition.
